Winter Wonderland Theme for a Magical Quinceañera

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

The winter months are upon us, people! Our office is located in Michigan, meaning…  it’s FREEZING! As the snow falls and covers the once full-of-life trees, we mourn the warm days that once embraced our sun-kissed skin. Although we’re obviously not fans of the cold, we can’t help but agree that the snow-covered trees, the icicles forming off the roof, and the soft white snow covering the ground make for a perfectly peaceful and magical setting. As we take in this beautiful scenery, we thought it was the perfect time to introduce to you this elegant and cozy theme for your event!

Whether you want to celebrate it during the winter months or in the summer, it’s the perfect way to bring all of your loved ones together to celebrate YOU! Maybe you’re thinking, “Why would I celebrate a winter theme during the warm months?” Well, we’ve got your answer! Have you ever been in 90° weather and wished for the cold? This theme is a great way to escape the heat and bring your guests into your magical Winter Wonderland! Mi Padrino has compiled a list of tips that will help guide you through this theme!

Color Palette

While planning your big day, the color scheme should always be at the top of your list. After all, the details like the invitations, the dress, the decor and everything in between centers around this specific topic. It’s important to not have more than 3-4 colors in your event to ensure that all of the decor will flow perfectly! Use our Winter Wonderland palette as a guide to help pick your color schemes for your special day!

Setting the Scene

Once you’ve picked your colors, it’s time to get to the fun stuff! Winter is a magical and peaceful time; everyone’s holiday spirits come out, and the anticipation for Christmas grows and grows! One very important element to your decor should be the lighting and the draping, these two should go hand in hand when planning for this theme. Choose blue lighting over regular lighting; this is a way to showcase an icy and wintry ambiance that’ll take your guests into a magical setting. Adding white draping to your backdrop and walls allows the light to flow at your venue which allows for optimal winter illusions.

We’ve also compiled a list of items you should add to your decor for the evening!

  • Fake snow
  • Snowflakes
  • Icicles
  • Twinkle light strings
  • Bare/Snowy Trees
  • Ice sculpture
  • White/Silver spray painted tree branches
  • Glitter
  • Snowmen
  • Reindeer

How you look for your special day is one of the most important aspects of the whole quince planning. What will you wear? Which shoes, what jewelry? Ay, las decisiones y las opciones! Always keep in mind that pictures that get taken will still be around 10 years from now so it’s important to look your best!
